An Independent spirit and music as destiny are the themes behind the story of Sandy. Early last year, Sandy recorded a new version of the classic disco anthem Hi Energy, a track originally recorded by Evelyn Thomas in 1984 and later covered by Hazell Dean. As a result of being picked up by radio and club DJ’s Hi NRG reached number six on Music Weeks’s Commercial Pop Chart.

Sandy is currently working on a forthcoming album with UK production teams DEA and Konkrete (left-field bashment producers). She has also been working with Swedish producers So Blue, a collaboration that has produced two tracks so far, one of which is being tipped as the first single. The tracks have been co-written by Sandy herself and her producers and Sandy describes the sound as “a great mix of Dance, RnB and Rap”. “I’m always on the scene, always doing things and working with DJ’s, so I’m constantly inspired and I write every night,” she says. “Its just a matter of going on with it and writing more songs. In that respect the show is still going on.” And what a show. With the album nearing completion, Sandy is set to release a single in the spring with an album to follow.
